The court will generally follow the recommendation made in a Section 7 Report, however, you do have the right to challenge it. There are good reports and bad reports and they do miss important information, they can be biased, they often make assumptions. In those situations a poor recomendation should be challenged.

You have one opportunity to show the Judge that the report they were thinking of following does not deserve to be made into an order, and that an alternative makes more sense.
