FREE Webinar -Represent Yourself In The Family Courts  – 9th September

Our Story

About Simon Walland Family Law

My journey into Family Law began with a deeply personal challenge. After my separation, I was initially granted only one hour per month with my two children. Determined to secure more meaningful contact, I fought tirelessly in the Family Court and ultimately achieved regular visits on alternate weekends and half of all holidays.

This experience ignited my passion to help others facing similar struggles. I became a McKenzie Friend, supporting other parents in Family Court, and later chaired a charity dedicated to assisting mothers in challenging situations.

Driven by my own courtroom experiences, I pursued a Law degree and completed the Bar Vocational Course. In 2010, I was called to the Bar as a barrister, marking a transition from my previous career as an architect. This dual background has enriched my approach to Family Law.

Witnessing a father’s devastating experience in court highlighted the urgent need for proper support and representation. This realisation motivated me to train others as McKenzie Friends, aiming to elevate the standard of support available to those representing themselves.

Since 2013, when Legal Aid cuts led to a surge in self-represented litigants, I have conducted training courses and developed over 80 guides to assist individuals in navigating the Family Court system. These resources are available for a small fee and in bundles, designed to simplify the process and empower you to manage your case effectively.

If you need guidance or support through your Family Court journey, I’m here to help. Contact me for an initial consultation or explore our guides to get started.
