REPRESENT YOURSELF IN THE FAMILY COURTS
When I separated from my ex-wife, she told me very clearly that I would never see my children again, and that she would bankrupt me with legal costs. She was wrong on both counts. I represented myself through the Family Courts, I achieved what I wanted, which was to keep a good relationship with both of our sons, and it cost me less than a few hundred pounds.
Representing yourself in court is possible and thousands of people in the UK do so every day. The majority of my clients represent themselves because they have little choice due to costs whilst some do not want to waste their money on solicitors.
The key to representing yourself is understanding what the court wants from you and providing that information in the right way at the right time.
Since my case twenty years ago, I have passed a law degree and taken further legal training qualifying as a barrister in 2010 when I was called to the bar. I have spent over twenty years advising, assisting and preparing documents for mothers, fathers, grandparents, aunts and uncles; all of whom have been successful in obtaining court orders giving them contact with their children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, preventing their children disappearing overseas, stopping a child being forced to attend a certain school and a million and one other issues which separating parents who generally dislike each other cannot reach a resolve.
If you want to represent yourself or have to do so because you cannot throw thousands of pounds at a solicitor, I can help you to prepare and navigate your case.
Everything you need is here. Whether it is a self-help guide or personal assistance with an application, it is what I do.
